A God thing. . .

A sweet friend encouraged me to share this . . .
I was chatting on the phone last week with an acquaintance from church about children's ministry stuff.  As we wrapped up the conversation, she said, "I need to talk with you about something totally unrelated.  Please don't think I'm a cyber stalker."  (Had to include that, it makes me giggle!).  She continued that she had come upon this blog via my facebook page and as she was flipping through it, came across a post I wrote earlier in the summer about my frustration at not being able to enjoy a family vacation due to our employment (or lack thereof) situation.  She said that God had really placed me and our family on her and her husband's hearts and they wanted to do something to bless us.  They own shares in a beach house and want us to take one of their weeks this fall and go on vacation.  WHAT!  I was stunned (still am frankly!)  I cannot express how grateful I am for the generosity of this sweet family.  And how grateful I am to God that he would answer my heart in such a sweet way.
Psalm 10:17 says, "You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry."  Even though God has not yet answered me on Chris' job and career situation.  But He has encouraged me again and again by providing these sweet "hugs" that remind me that He is listening, He is in control, and His answers are so much better than I could imagine.
As my preschoolers sang this morning, "Let all that is within me praise the LORD!"
