Sigh. . .

Job update - for those who are new to my blog, Chris has been out of work since Jan 13th of 2009. (See the original post here: The Lord gives and the Lord takes away)
We found out yesterday that the only real promising interview he'd had over the past several months didn't pan out. The good news with that is that we don't have to move to Hickory!
Please continue to pray for us. God has been faithful and provided for us in amazing ways over the past 12 months. And I know that He will continue to do so. Sometimes that doesn't make a shut door any less painful, though.
And, did I mention how proud I am of my husband? He has been amazing through this whole situation. It would be so easy for him to shut down or break down. One can only take so many no's before it really starts to hurt. But he continues on. He keeps his focus and loves his family. I am thrilled by the depth of his relationship with our children.
I told him yesterday that I didn't know how he did it. I could at least go about my life and "pretend" that everything was okay. He responded that a big part was in the sermon our pastor preached last Sunday from Colossians. Here's the reference:
Colossians 1:9-14
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully
giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

God is God.
God is good.
God always, yes always, does what is best for His people.
